Points of Distinction
The Difference an Apostrophe Makes
There are three unique entities with strikingly similar names.
Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars
Our Napa Valley winery and vineyard estate, founded in 1970 and internationally recognized as one of America’s benchmark Cabernet Sauvignon houses.
Stags’ Leap Winery
A neighboring winery best known for Petite Syrah. Notice the difference in the placement of the apostrophe.
Stags Leap District
The name of the appellation (AVA) in which both wineries are located, and the first sub-appellation in Napa Valley. Recognized as one of the top Cabernet Sauvignon regions of the world, the Stags Leap District is bordered on the east by the towering Stags Leap Palisades and on the west by the Napa River. Notice the absence of the apostrophe.
