From bud-break to bottle
The First Vintage Under the New Partnership.
The 2008 vintage wines were the first crafted from bud-break to bottle under the new partnership, beginning a new chapter for this iconic Napa Valley winery. As an example of their commitment to quality, a new sorting system called the Mistral was purchased prior to harvest. The Mistral ensures that only the cleanest, purest berries are selected for vinification by using a series of vibrating tables and blowers to separate leaves, shot berries, tendrils, and raisined berries from the highest quality berries. At the end, the fruit that makes it into the crusher looks like baskets of blueberries.
