30th Anniversary Recreation of the Paris Tasting
On May 24, exactly 30 years after the original event, a transatlantic recreation of the 1976 Paris Tasting was staged and proved that California wines, and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, could stand the test of time.
The blind tasting, held concurrently in Napa Valley at Copia: The American Center for Food and Wine, and Berry Bros. and Rudd in London, brought together two panels of expert tasters and the same wines and vintages that had been blind tasted with such dramatic results in 1976. Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars 1973 S.L.V. took second place honors, proving without question that our wines age as gracefully as the beautiful and time-honored wines of Bordeaux.
