In 1984 California artist John Michael Keating immortalized 35 Napa Valley winemakers and other local luminaries in a seven-by-ten-foot oil painting commissioned by restaurateur Newton Cope. But after the Copes' St. George Restaurant passed to new owners, Warren Winiarski purchased the artwork. Now The Vintners and a bronze plaque identifying the people it portrays are on indefinite loan to the Napa Valley Museum in Yountville. They are displayed alongside California Wine: The Science of an Art, the Napa Valley's only interactive wine exhibit. "We're so appreciative of Warren's generosity," says the museum's executive director, Eric Nelson. "He's giving the public the opportunity to view this important historical artifact."

Warren is the standing figure in the foreground of The Vintners.
