
Love All Around
MORE THAN FIVE DOZEN CLUB 23 members and their guests elebrated Valentine's Day in style at the Red & White Gala, held in our wine caves on February 14. Ablaze with candles, the caves were a magical place for a very romantic evening.
Chef Peter Hall provided a dazzling dinner that beautifully complemented an array of Stag's Leap Wine Cellars wines. Following hors d'oeuvres in the Round Room, guests moved to the Great Room for a dinner that included Pacific Coast seafood mousse, served with the 2001 ARCADIA VINEYARDS Chardonnay, and Cabernet- raised duck atop fresh corn polenta. Three red wines were poured to accompany the duck: our 2001 ARTEMIS Cabernet Sauvignon, 1994 FAY Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2000 CASK 23. The wines also paired wonderfully with the next course, an array of artisan cheeses.
Our 1983 Late Harvest Riesling was a perfect match with the finale, spiced pear cake with warm caramel sauce. Adding to the evening's excitement was a raffle for vintage wines, including Magnums of 1998 S.L.V, and 1993 CASK 23. No one went away empty-handed, however; each couple received a half bottle of 1998 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon and a Valentine's keepsake, an engraved crystal heart filled with colates.
